World Boxing Organisation declares Manny Pacquiao should have won Timothy Bradley fight

The furore that broke out after boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao controversially lost his world titles to American Timothy Bradley on a split decision has finally been settled with the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) declaring that the Filipino should have won the fight.
The WBO called for a rematch between the two fighters to give Pacquiao the chance to reclaim what is rightfully his after five international judges evaluated video of the match and unanimously scored the fight in favour of the Filipino.
The fight caused uproar after Bradley emerged victorious, with two judges awarding it to him 115-113 and a third scoring 115-113 for Pacquiao.
While the WBO has admitted that ruling was wrong, it does not have the power to overturn the initial result and Bradley's win will stand.
Pacquiao, while humble in the wake of the shock result, has already demanded a rematch and the WBO's rejudging will add weight to that outcome.
There is also a re-match clause in the contract drawn up prior to the Las Vegas bout and the two fighters could go head-to-head for a second time later this year.
Bradley held the WBO's light-welterweight belt before moving up in weight to take the organisation's welterweight belt from Pacquiao, a result that could scupper hopes of a Pacquiao super-fight against Floyd Mayweather.
